GENERAL INFORMATION
The W&S Series require that users enter through a side access door in order to change the filter mediums inside the dust collector. It is Airex’s first generation of baghouse collectors.
The dry fabric filter is by far the most efficient and the most reliable compared to numerous other air pollution control devices. Unlike other filtering methods, variations in dust loading or air volume will not change the outlet conditions of a well-designed dry fabric collector. The pulse jet system outperforms conventional dry fabric filter units since it allows the use of highly efficient felt filter fabrics.
The dust is collected on the outside of the filter bags. At regular intervals, a burst of metered compressed air is injected through the venturis and into (inside) the fabrics in order to dislodge the agglomerated dust on the outside (the reverse side) of the bags and makes it fall into the hopper to then drop/descend into a dust collecting bin.
Using top quality needle felt media of appropriate weight and construction enables maximum filtering efficiency to be attained. A full range of natural and synthetic felts is available to meet your specific requirements: Fibreglass, Polyester, Nylon, Nomex, etc. All bags are accessed from the side entry of the collector for servicing.
There are two variants of the inside-access baghouse dust collectors: the W and the S series. The main difference is that the W series has an integrated walkway made of expanded metal that will allow easier access to the bags that are placed deeply inside the collector and allows that person to access and change the filtering media with reduced risks of falling below into the hopper.

- Side access
- Can operate at High temperatures up to 800˚F (special bags required)
- NFPA Construction
THEORY OF OPERATION
HOW [W and S] INSIDE ACCESS BAGHOUSE DUST COLLECTORS WORK
The dust-laden air enters the collector through the side that incorporates a vertical deflector plate. Once inside, the dust accumulates on the surface of the bag filter creating some caking. Reverse blasts of air are introduced at specific intervals, cleaning the bag surface and sending the debris towards the hopper. This unit utilizes venturis to amplify the blast into the bag creating a more efficient cleaning.

Steel internal cage supports are used to keep the bag form. Quick-clamps hold the bags and the cages in place. Bags and cages are accessed from below the tube sheet within the dirty side of the collector. The raised venturi design prevents dust from being blown back into adjoining bags in case of bag failure.
